Baldwin was born in 1368 in Woebley Castle, Worcestershire, England.1 Baldwin's father was Sir Baldwin de Freville and his mother was Joyce de Botetourt. His paternal grandparents were Sir Baldwin de Freville and Ida de Clinton; his maternal grandparents were John de Botetourt and Joyce la Zouche. He was an only child.
