Richard Plantagenet was born in Winchester castle. Richard Plantagenet's father was I King of England John and his mother was Isabella of Angaouleme Dowager Queen. His paternal grandparents were II King of England Henry and Eleanore; his maternal grandfather was Aimar Taillefer Count of Angouleme. He had a brother and three sisters, named III King of England, Joan, Isabella and Eleanor. He had three half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Richard, William, Hugh, Joan and Alice.
