Donald III Bane's father was King Duncan I MacCrinan Scotland and his mother was Aelflaed Sybilla FitzSiward of Northumbria. His paternal grandparents were Crinan Thane and Princess Bethoc Beatrix of Scotland; his maternal grandparents were Earl Siward Biornsson and Aefflaed de Bernicia. He had two brothers and a sister, named Malcolm III, Duncan Mormaer and Margaret. He had a half-brother named Malcolm III Canmore King of. He died about 1097.-
