William's father was William Prouz and his mother was Miss deGidley. His paternal grandparents were Walter Prouz and Miss Dinham; his maternal grandfather was Giles de Gidley. He was an only child. He died about 1314.General Notes
Held Gidley, Stodbury, Cumesheved, Haccehe and Colton manors. Walter Sheppard, in the 7th Edition of Weis Ancestral Roots, stop's here stating: 'The earlier generations of Prouz are not clear.' Note the Visitations state otherwise.
