Phraates III of Parthia's father was King Sanatruces of Parthia and his mother was Isbubarza of Parthia. His paternal grandparents were King Mithrades I of Parthia and Riinnu; his maternal grandfather was King Artabanus II of Parthia. He had a brother named Phraates III of Parthia. He died in 0057 BC.
He had a biological son named Mithradates I of Media Atropatene.
