Adeline De was born about 1056 in Grentemesnil, Calvados, France.  Adeline De's father was Hugh De Grentmesnil Lord of Hinckle and her mother was Adeliza Or Alice De Beaumont. She had five brothers and five sisters, named Robert De, William De, Hugh De, Ivo (Ives) De, Alberic De, Halewise De, Rohese De, Matilda (Maud) De, Agnes De and Hawise De.  She was the third oldest of the eleven children. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Robert II De and Alice.  She died in 1111.
