Gerard of Vergy's father was Ld. Uralon of Vergy and his mother was Judith of Fonvens.  His paternal grandfather was Rudolf; his maternal grandfather was Ct. Gerard I of Fonvens.  He was an only child.

They had a daughter named Aremburge of Vergy.
