Duncan I of Scots was born about 1001 in Atholl, Pert, Scot.. Duncan I of Scots' father was Abbot Crinan of Dunkeld and his mother was Bethoc (Beatrix) of Scone. His paternal grandfather was Earl Duncan of Atholl; his maternal grandfather was King Mael-Coluim II of Scots. He had a brother named Maldred of Allendale. He was the older of the two children. He died due to murdered on August 14th, 1040 in Elgin, Mora, Scot.. He was buried in Isle of Iona, Scotland.General Notes
