Agnes De was born about 1166 in Dammartin, Seine-et-Marne, France.  Agnes De's father was Alberic (Aubrey) II Of Dammartin and her mother was Matilda (Maud Mahaut) Of Ponthieu.  Her paternal grandparents were Alberic (Aubrey) I De Dammartin Count of Dammartin and Joan Basset; her maternal grandparents were Renaud II De Clermont Count of Clermont and Clemence De Bar-Le-Duc. She had a brother and a sister, named Simon II Of Aumale De and Juliane De.  She was the second oldest of the three children.

‌Agnes De and William De were married in a religious ceremony about 1198 in Martock, Somersetshire, England.  They had three sons and three daughters, named Enguerrand II De, Baldwin De, William, Miss De, Maud De and Michel De.
