Eleanor (Alianore Leanor) of was born in 1244 in Burgos, Castile, Spain.  Eleanor (Alianore Leanor) of's father was Ferdinand III "The Saint" King of Leon & Castile and her mother was Joan de Dammartin.  Her paternal grandparents were King of Castile & Leon Alfonso IX Fernandez de Castile and Berengaria Queen of Castile; her maternal grandparents were Simon II Count Of Aumale Dammartin and Countess Marie Jeanne dePonthieu.  She was an only child.  She died at the age of 46 in 1290 in Grantham, Lincolnshire, England.  She was buried on December 16th, 1290 in Westminster Abbey, London, England.
