William was born on October 3rd, 1550 in Bristol, Avon, Gloucester, England and his baptism took place on October 3rd, 1550 in St. Nicholas, Bristol, Gloucester, England.  William's father was Richard Cary Elder and his mother was Christian Dennis.  His paternal grandparents were William Cary Sr. and Joane Herle; his maternal grandparents were John Dennis Esq. and Dorothy Monke. He had a brother and five sisters, named Richard, Lettice, Elizabeth, Francis, Agnes and Mary. He had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named Christopher, Mary and Elizabeth.  He died at the age of 81 on March 1st, 1632 in Bristol, Avon, Gloucester, England.  He was buried on March 28th, 1632 in Crypt of St. Nicholas Church, Bristol, England.

‌William and Elizabeth were married in a religious ceremony on January 14th, 1572 in St. Nicholas, Bristol, Gloucester, England.1   They had eight sons and three daughters, named Richard, John, Nathaniel, Walter, Robert, Thomas, James, William, Anne, Susan and Margery.
