Sir. Robert Cary Knight 
Robert was born about 1375 in Holway, Devon, England. Robert's father was Sir. John II Cary Baron and his mother was Margaret Holway. His paternal grandparents were Sir. John Carey Sir Knight and Jane de Bryan; his maternal grandparents were Robert Holway and Mrs. Holway. He had two brothers named John and Thomas. He was the oldest of the three children. He died after 1419.General Notes
He was MP for Devon 1407-1425 and the famous jouster of Smithfield. Named as an heir to his grandfather, Robert, in an inquisition 20 Richard II, no. 127 and in Charter 9, September 19 Richard II (1397) Due to his besting a Knight by the title of Arragonois in combat he was assigned by King Henry V, part of the lands which had been taken from his father and the arms of that knight.
