Her paternal grandparents were Richard Gardner and Elizabeth Weire. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Wilfred, Richard, Mary and Henrietta Maria. She had five half-brothers and five half-sisters, named John, Clement, John, Richard, Clement, Elizabeth, Susanna, Susanna, Mary and Mary.-
