"Nancy A. Stephenson
Nancy A. Stephenson was born December 28, 1843, in Rushville, Indiana; died December 3, 1934, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. S. Miller, of Freedom, Oklahoma, at the age of 91 years, 11 months, and 2 days.
Sshe was converted at the age of 18 and united in the Presbyterian church. She lived a Christian life and was a devoted wife and a loving mother, spending lots of her time reading the Bible, even in her very last days was found sitting up reading it.
Grandma Young has been very poorly for the past four years, spending the last eight months in bed. She bore her sickness with great patience, always speaking of her home above.
Nancy A. Stephenson was married to William L. Young, December 29, 1866 at Shelbyville, Indiana, and to this union was born five children, one girl and four boys; John S. Young of Ringwood, Oklahoma; Ellsworth Young of Freedom, Oklahoma; Harry L. Young, who passed away April 8, 1932 at Walnut Grove, Missouri; Walter S. Young of Freedom, Oklahoma; and Mrs. C.S. Miller of Freedom, Oklahoma; also fourteen grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
Funeral services were conducted at the Freedom Christian church at 11:00 o'clock Tuesday morning, with Rev. P.M. Elder officiating. Interment was in the Haskew cemetery. Floyd-Clark Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements."
