Pleasant McCann, Senior was born during the 1700's in Virginia. He was married in Spottsylvania Co., VA. He later settled in Kentucky.
It is interesting to note that three McCann brothers married three sisters
of the Robinson and Ellis group (from the Traveling Church movement):
Pleasant, Senor married Polly Robinson; Neal married Sarah (Sally) Ellis who
was a half-sister of Polly Robinson; and Joseph married Elizabeth Ellis, who
was also a half-sister of Polly Robinson. The last two couples cames as
couples with the "Traveling Church" in 1781.
Pleasant McCann, Senior was on the 1800 Tax List, Clark County, Kentucky.
His will was dated January 30, 1821 and was probated March 1821, Will Book E,
Page 314, Fayette Co., KY. (I thought he died in Clark Co., KY.??).
Also, did he die in 1815 or in 1821? (Try to clear this up!).
"An appraisal of the Estate of Pleasant McCann (Senior) who died April 12, 1821 was listed including notes: Loyd K. Gooding, dated April 4, 1820; Joseph McCAnn dated 19 Sept., 19, 1820; Neal McCann daged 10 Feb. 1820; Hezekiah McCann dated 16 Aug. 1820; William True dated 16 Jan. 1821; Larken Dorsen dated 23 Nov., 1818; Order on Hezekiah McCAnn 2 Jan., 1821. Accounts on Thomas Ellis, James Dorsen. Received on Joseph McCann, Signed Jona Parrish, Thomas Ellis, James Nelson, W. Hayes, LEXINGTON, KY, Fayette Co." (Question: Why was his estate appraisal in the Fayette Co. records since his will is in adjacent Clark Co., KY? Also, he did not die until March.
He is listed as a "Hatter" among other things.
