Lived on Buffalo Creek in the Forks of the James River where they reared their thirteen children. Most of the children were already married by the time Robert and Mary Young moved to what is now Tennessee between the years 1770-1772. All of the sons and daughters and their husbands/wives moved to this area and settled on land near their parents.
James Sevier mentioned that with Valentine Sevier on Colonel Chrisitan's Campaign was Valentine's brother-in-law, Robert Young. Young's wife was Mary Douglass."
