In the name of God Amen. I JOSEPH BOWREN of North Carolina in Currituck County being sick and weak of body but of sound disposing mind and memory Thanks be to Almighty God for the same do make this my Last Will and Testament hereby revokeing all other wills by me made and as touching and concerning what Earthly estate it hath pleased the almighty God to bless me with I give and bequeath as follows-------
Item: I give and bequeath unto my son EDMUND BOWREN one negro man called David to him and his heirs forever. I likewise give unto my son EDMUND BOWREN one parr of Cullen handmilstones to him and his heirs forever------
Item: I give and bequeath to my Daughter LETISHA MUNCREEFE one chest and one box's iron to her and her heirs forever-----
Item: I give and bequeath to my Son TULLA BOWREN one heifer yearling mother ( torn off) crop and half crop the left raw to him and his heirs forever-----
Item: I give and bequeath unto my Son BENJAMIN BOWREN one heifer yearling and ????? twallow fork the right ??? and crop and half crop the left to him and his heirs forever-----
Item: I give and bequeath the rest of my estate which I have not already given away in this will in the hands and care of my executor for the use and maintainance of my two small children JACOB BOWREN and MARY BOWREN after my just debts and funeral charges is paid and Lastly I do hereby nominate and appoint my Son EDMUND BOWREN my whole and sole executor to this my last will performed as witness my hand this first day of April 1754
