His paternal grandparents were Boleslaw III "Crooked Mouth" Prince of Poland and Salome Countes of Berg-Schelklingen; his maternal grandparents were Almos (Vak Almos) Prince Of Hungary and Sophie of Looz. He had a brother and three sisters, named Prince Stephan of, Princess Ludmilla of, Judyta Princess of and Elzbieta Piast Of. He was the oldest of the five children. He had three half-brothers and six half-sisters, named Prince Boleslaw of, King Wladislaw III of, Prince Miesko of, Anastazja, Zwinislawa Princess Of, Princess Marija of, Princess Anastazja of, Princess Salomeo of and Princess Swinislawa of.
