Earl William of Montacute-Salisbury 
Earl William of was born in 1234. Earl William of's father was Lord William of Montacute. His paternal grandparents were Baron William of Montacute and Lady Isabel of Montacute. He was an only child. He died at the age of 54 in 1288.General Notes
William was summoned to attend the king into Gascogne against Alphonso X, King of Castile, who had usurped that province. The 41st of Henry III, 1257, he was summoned to be with the King at Chester on the feast day of St. Peter ad Vincula, well furnished with horse and arms, thence to march against Llewellyn ap Griffith, Prince of Wales.
