Pedro was born in 1617 in Santiago,Chile and his baptism took place there.  Pedro's father was Diego Martínez de Prado and his mother was Petronila de Gárnica.  His paternal grandparents were Pedro Martínez de Prado and Magdalena Sáez de Angulo; his maternal grandparents were Garcia Medina Castro and Maria Garnica.  He was an only child.
