His paternal grandparents were Jesse Abinadah nahash and habliar; his maternal grandfather was Talmai King of Geshur. He had a brother and a sister, named Ab-sa-lom and Ta'mar. He had fourteen half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Am' non, Ad-o-ni jah, Sheph-a-ti'ah, Ith're-am, Solomon King of, Nathan, Shimea, Shobab, Ne'pheg, Ib'har, Ja-phi'a, El-i-shu'a, Chil' e-ab, Daniel, Tamar, E-li'ada, E-liph'a-let and E-lish'a-ma.
He had a biological daughter named Maachah Ben.
