Bishop Berengar of was born in 0951.  Bishop Berengar of's father was Baron Eberhard of Drenthe-Salland and his mother was Baroness Amalrada of Hamaland. He had two brothers named Bishop Dietrich of and Baron Unruoch of.  He was the youngest of the three children.
