His paternal grandparents were Merovaeus (Merovee) of the Salic Franks and Chlodeswinthe Of The Salic Franks; his maternal grandparents were Basin King of Thuringia and Basine of Saxony. He had seven brothers and three sisters, named Adelbert Albero King of, Theodoric I "The Great" of the, Clovis I the Great King of the, Lantechilde, Prince of, Clodius, Gundobad, Godegesil, Alboflede, princess of the, Andelfida Princess of the and Guntran.
