Margaret was born about 1345 in of terregales,Kirkcudbright,Dumphries,Scotland. Margaret's father was Sir Robert , 3rd Baron of Kilmarnock Boyd and her mother was Alice , Baroness Kilmarnock Gifford. Her paternal grandparents were Sir Thomas , 2nd Baron of Kilmarnock Boyd and Miss Fleming; her maternal grandparents were Hugh , Lord of Yester Giffard and Unknown. She had three brothers named William , of Badenheath\, Robert , of Portincross and Sir Thomas , 4th Baron of Kilmarnock. She was the oldest of the four children. She died in Scotland.-
