Michael VIII Palaiologos Emp was born about 1224 in Constantinople (Istanbul),Byzantium (Turkey).1   Michael VIII Palaiologos Emp's father was Andronikos Palaiologos and his mother was Theodora PALAIOLOGOS.  His paternal grandparents were Alexios Palaiologos and Irini KOMNENA; his maternal grandparents were Alexios Palaiologos and Irene Angelina Princess BYZANTINE EMPIRE.  He was an only child.  He died on December 11th, 1282.1
