His paternal grandparents were Clovis I the Great King of the Franks and St.Chlotilde de Burgundy. He had eight half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Charibert I King of, Guntram, King of, Chilperic King of, Charibert, Guntramm, Theodebert, Merovee, Clovis, Bildechildis von and Blithildis de.
