OTTO COUNT's father was SIEGFRIED I von SPANHEIM-ARCH and his mother was MATHILDE von VALLEY.  His paternal grandparents were ENGELBERT I MARGRAVE de ISTRIA and HEDWIG von EPPENSTEIN; his maternal grandparents were KONRAD I von VALLEY and AGNES von MAREIT von GREIFFENSTEIN.  He was an only child.  He died about 1200.¹
