James Monroe was born on May 13th, 1849 in Lowndes County, Alabama.²   He died at the age of 87 on March 10th, 1937 in DeFuniak Springs, Walton County, Florida.  He was buried in Magnolia Cemetery, DeFuniak Springs, Walton County, Florida.^2 2
