ERIK I HAAKONSSON's father was HAAKON SIGURDSSON de NOR-TRONDELAG and his mother was THORA SKAGIDOTTIR de NORWAY. His paternal grandfather was SIGURD SIGURDSSON de TRONDELAGEN; his maternal grandfather was SKAGI SKOPTASSON. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Arnljot Haakonsson, SWEYN HAAKONSSON, Erland Haakonsson, Heming Haakonsson, Bergljot, N.N. Haaksonsdottir and RAGNHILD HAAKONSDOTTIR. He died about 1023.1 
They had a son named HAAKON ERIKSSON JARL.
