Mathilde was born in 1235.¹ Mathilde's father was Godefroy I de MONTFORT-le-HEDE and her mother was Gervaise de SACE. Her paternal grandparents were Guillaume I Sire de Gael de MONTFORT-le-HEDE and Anne (Amice) de PORHOET. She was an only child. She died at the age of 44 in 1279.¹
