WILLIAM was born about 1145.¹   WILLIAM's father was Robert FITZ RALPH and his mother was UNKNOWN MISS.  His paternal grandparents were RADULPHUS de ALFRETON and UNKNOWN MISS.  He was an only child.

They had a son named ROBERT LORD.
