Samuel's father was Cadfael Ynad LORD ap EINUDD and his mother was Arianwen verch IORWERTH.  His paternal grandfather was Einudd ap LLYWARCH; his maternal grandfather was Iorwerth ap TRAHARIN.  He was an only child.

They had a son named Madog.
