Vinson, Mrs. Walter, 75, of Prattville died Sunday (16 September 1951) at
the home of her daughter in Birmingham. Mrs. Vinson was born in Coosa
County. Survivors include the widower; three daughters, Mrs. G. W. Cheek,
Selma; Mrs. J. I. Freeman, Birmingham; Mrs. E. M. Rushing, Prattville;
two sons, Gordon Vinson, Prattville; and Mason Vinson, Montgomery; a
brother, the Rev. J. A. Raines, Verbena; five grandsons, and several
nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be from the home in Prattville,
Monday at 3:30 p.m. with the Rev. J. O. Richardson officiating. Burial
will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Speigner Funeral Home in charge.
[Isadora Raines (Mrs. Walter Raleigh Brannon) Vinson was the daughter of
Rev. Augustus Goodwyn and Roxannah Raines. Daughters: Vera (Mrs. George
W.) Cheek; Gussie (Mrs. John Isaac) Freeman; Clarice Vinson; Myra (Mrs.
Euland Mead) Rushing; Gordon Vinson; Mason Vinson.]

Hi, Jim,
Thanks for sending the update. I see that I hadn't responded before
and I
apologize for that.
Thought you should know that Mama passed away yesterday around noon
at the hursing home. She had been feverish and on IV for several days and
both the doctor and the nurses at the home had said it was unlikely she
would have
pulled through this illness. It was just her time to go.
We're having her cremated in Nashville but will take her remains to
Prattville to be buried next to Daddy.
Hope all is well with you and yours and that the season is beneficial
to you
