William* (Sir) was born about 1161 in Yorkshire, England.1 William* (Sir)'s father was Mauger* (Sir) Le Vavasour and his mother was Unknown Miss*. His paternal grandparents were Mauger* (William) (Sir) Vavasour and Unknown Miss*. He was an only child. He died on June 29th, 1191.1 
‌William* (Sir) and Matilda* were married in a religious ceremony about 1190.1 They had a son and a daughter, named Robert* (Sir) and Matilda.
