Hi Again Ron and Bob , This information may or may not be of any
help. Last night I was reading The Huntsville Times Obituary section and
spotted an obiturary on a "GUY H. SMITH" . He died Wed. in Decatur ,
AL.
(Morgan Co.) at the age of 89. Burial will be in Shoal Creek
Cemetery----it
did not state what town or county this was located. He was a member of
the
Walnut Grove Baptist Church in Hartselle , AL. (Morgan Co.). His wife
Sally
R. Smith is still living. Guy had 3 children---a daughter Edna R.
Johnson of
Midland , Michigan and 2 sons----Guy S. Smith of Russiaville , Indiana and
Rev. Charles W. Smith of Boaz , AL. (Marshall Co.) We though our Guy
Smith
moved to Cullman, AL. (Cullman Co. ) after the Civil War but found no
evidence so far of him living there. Cullman and Hartselle , AL. are
only
20-25 miles apart , so could it be that Guy Smith located there ? I
haven't
seen the first name "GUY" listed in my past geneaogy searches , esp. on
the
Smith side. So I presume this is not a real common name---please correct
me
if I am wrong. I wonder if the name "GUY" is possibly a surname. I
know
there are some GUY's in both Coosa and Talladega Counties here. Also my
daughter , Briana, has found that our Smith line came from TN to here in
North Alabama where we now live ---Huntsville (Madison Co.).........Many
of
our SMITHs settled in Decatur , AL. (Morgan Co.) , Huntsville , AL . (
Madison Co.) , and Scottsboro (Jackson Co.) . I am wondering if Guy
possibly settled in this area , knowing he had relatives here in North
Alabama ? Let me hear what you all think ............. Love to
All-----Mickey
