Thomas Sherrill McDonald was born April 10, 1836 to Dr. John S. McDonald
and Elizabeth Lane McDonald. He died February 4, 1884. He was 3rd
Captain in Wetumpka Light Guards, a volunteer company in 1860. Member of
Company H, 13th Alabama Infantry Regiment, organized at Mt. Moriah Church
in Coosa County on July 2, 1861. Elected 3rd Lt. in September 1862;
discharged September 10, 1864 because of wounds received while at
Chancellorsville.
