Christopher was born on May 19th, 1782 in Bedford Co., Penn.1 Christopher's father was PETER MOCK and his mother was ELIZABETH (SAMPLER) SAMPLE. His paternal grandparents were PETER MOCK and UNKNOWN MARGARET; his maternal grandmother was UNKNOWN CHRISTINE. He had seven brothers and a sister, named Peter, Adam, Paul, John, David, George, Jacob and FANNY. He was the third youngest of the nine children.
