JOHN was born about 1515 in Knowlton, Staffordshire, England.1 JOHN's father was THOMAS LORD and his mother was ELIZABETH (Elspeth) BRERETON. His paternal grandparents were HENRY (Harry) LORD and SIONED BAGOT; his maternal grandfather was WILLIAM BRERETON. He was an only child.
They had eight sons and a daughter, named ANTHONY, Nicholas, Robert, Roger, William, George, Harry, John and Elsbeth.
