Mahala Dennis 
Mahala was born on March 4th, 1840 in Autauga Co., AL.1 Mahala's father was Posey Dennis and her mother was Cecelia Burroughs. She was an only child. She died at the age of 91 on April 15th, 1931 in Chilton Co., AL. She was buried in Rocky Mount Cemetery, Jemison, Chilton Co., AL.1 1 General Notes

John and Mahala may have had a child named - Langerid.
Thank you for you email. I do not know where John Jacks is buried. I am
sure it is in Coosa County; I have been to several of those old
cemeteries where he is probably buried; they are in the country and
isolated and very beautiful.
Mahala's parents were Posey Dennis and Cecelia Burroughs; Posey Dennis
died in 1892 and is buried in Coosa County. As far as I can determine,
Cecelia was the daughter of Henry Burroughs and Winney Posey. Posey
Dennis also married Maria Burroughs Findley, a daughter of Henry
Burroughs and Winney Posey. I do have more information on Winney Posey
and I have a book on the Northcutt family. As you know, Mahaha Dennis
Jacks married William V. Northcutt after John Jacks died.
I posted the death information on Doc Jacks; did you see it? My great
uncle
knew him and that is what he called him so he must have been called Doc
Jacks.

Mahala and John were married in a religious ceremony on May 17th, 1865 in Coosa Co., AL.1 They had two daughters named Alice Blanche and Melissa Eugenia.

Melissa Eugenia Jacks
Melissa Eugenia was born on August 6th, 1870 in Coosa Co., AL.1 She died at the age of 79 on July 16th, 1950 in Cullman Co., AL.1
