Robert was born about 1217.¹   Robert's father was John DRAKES and his mother was Margery FITZ JOHN.  His paternal grandfather was Geoffrey DRAKES; his maternal grandfather was Eustace FITZ JOHN.  He was an only child.

He had a biological son named John.
