Her parents were Thomas Jackson Beaty and Agnes Cebright LeCroy Beaty.
Somewhere around 1914 or 1915 when Leora was around 13 years old,  Thomas
Jackson moved his family to Sylacauga for a while.  He bought a livery
stable,  the original Hightower building, from a Mr. Hagen.  He also
bought and ran a drugstore in Sylacauga  which he later sold to Mr. Lev
Washam.  The Beaty family returned to their home near Goodwater.
FYI...Thomas Jackson Beaty and boys built the home and my Dad for the
most part grew up there.  The home burned to the ground last year.  We
had already sold it to another family but still felt like we had lost a
dear dear friend.  Many of my childhood weekends were spent there. I look
forward to talking to or meeting many of you.  I am very excited about
finding more "new family".
