James Baker 
James was born about 1702.1 James' father was Henry*I Baker and his mother was Mary* Bennett Blake. His paternal grandparents were Lawrence* Baker and UNKNOWN ??; his maternal grandparents were John* Blake and UNKNOWN Bridgett*. He had five brothers and four sisters, named William, Lawrence, John, Richard, Henry*II, Elizabeth, Mary, Sarah and Katherine. He died in 1756 in Pennsylvania.1 General Notes

"...My great Grandfather had a Brother by the name of James no
opportunity has occurred before for naming him - He is represented to
have been a handsome & elegantly formed remarkably swift of foot - He was
the last who visited & was recognized by the Family in England. In the
French war of 1756 he carried off a large number of the Nottoway tribe of
Indians from Southampton Virginia - My old Aunt
Jerrell told me she saw him at the time dressed in the Indian costume. He
was in a battle at or near to Fort Duquesne now Pittsborough Pennsylvania
was severely wounded & refusing to throw away his musket, was drowned in
attempting to swim the Ohio -"
