KATHERINE's father was WILLIAM (Esquire) (Boteler) BUTLER and her mother was URSULA SMYTH.  Her paternal grandparents were WILLIAM (Boteler) BUTLER and ANNE PECOCKE; her maternal grandfather was THOMAS (Esquire) SMYTH.  She was an only child.

They had a son named JOHN II.
