John's father was Osmond BERRY and his mother was Alice MIKELFELDE.  His paternal grandparents were Hugh BERRY and Cecily HENGRAVE; his maternal grandfather was Robert MIKELFELDE.  He was an only child.

They had a son named Edmund.
