His paternal grandparents were John B., Jr. Anderton and Nancy Pool; his maternal grandparents were Andrew Davis and Cynthia C. (?). He had four brothers and a sister, named Albert, Charles Thomas, John Andy, James Luther and Deamie. He died at the age of 56 in 1937 in Stinnett, Hutchinson, Texas.
