John de la Roche , Lord of Fermoy 
John de was born about 1220 in Roche Castle, Roch, Pembrokeshire, Wales. John de's father was David de la Roche. His paternal grandparents were Adam de la Roche and Blandiane. He was an only child. He died in 1252 in Fermoy, Cork, Ireland.General Notes
John de la Roche (d) in 1252 held the barony of Roche as 1 1/3 fee of the Bohun share of the Earl Marshal's inheritance in co. Pembroke. He married Maud, niece of Thomas le Waleys, Bishop of St. David's (1248-55]. [Complete Peerage XI:42, (transcribed by Dave Utzinger)]

John de and Maud le were married in a religious ceremony about 1245 in Wales. They had a son and a daughter, named Thomas 1st Baron de and Blanche de.
