Henry La was born about 1253 in Ashby, Leicestershire, England.  Henry La's father was Sir Knight Alan La Zouche Sir Knight and his mother was Elena De Helen De Quincy. He had six brothers and two sisters, named Eudo (Eon) La, William La, Alan La, Oliver La, Roger Baron La, Robert (Of Ashby) La, Helene La and Margery De La.
