Anne was born about 1530. Anne's father was Henry Wheeler and her mother was Isabel Allen. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Wheeler and Joan; her maternal grandfather was Thomas Allen. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, William, John, Joan and Agnes. She was the third oldest of the six children. She had a half-brother named Obadiah.
