William de Warenne , Sir Knight 
William de was born about 1256 in Warren, Sussex, England. William de's father was John de Warenne , 7th Earl of Surrey and his mother was Alice de Lusignan. His paternal grandparents were William de Warenne , 6th Earl of Surrey and Maud Marshal; his maternal grandparents were Hugh X de Lusignan , Count Angouleme\La Marche and Isabella Taillefer de Angouleme. He had two sisters named Eleanor de and Isabel de. He was the youngest of the three children. He died on December 15th, 1286 in Killed in a Tournament at Croyden (dvp).General Notes
WILLIAM DE WARENNE, son and heir apparent. In 1276 he agreed that his father might at his death dispose of the Earl's lands in Norfolk. In 1285 he was knighted at Winchester; and in the same year obtained quittance from the common summons in Essex, Bucks and Norfolk. He married, probably in June 1285, Joan, daughter of Robert (DE VERE), 5th EARL OF OXFORD, by Alice, daughter and heir of Gilbert DE SANFORD. He died v.p. 15 December 1286, having attended a tournament at Croydon, where he is said to have been ambushed and cruelly slain by his rivals. Joane, dau. of Robert de Vere, Earl of Oxford, and left a posthumous son, John, who s. his grandfather, and a dau., Alice.
