Gundred de was born in 1144 in Lewes, Sussex, England. Gundred de's father was William de Warenne , 3rd Earl of Surrey and her mother was Ela de Talvas , de Alencon. Her maternal grandparents were William III Talvas , Count of Alencon & Ponthieu and Alice (Alix or Ela) of Burgundy. She had a sister named Isabel de. She was the younger of the two children. She had a half-brother named William. She died at the age of 80 in 1224.
